A review will be coming soon >> I'm taking the week end off to play with all my Christmas presents. Merry Christmas and see you on Monday.... My copy of The Walking Dead: Rise of the Governor arrived today from Amazon and so far it's looking pretty good. If you are not the reading type its also available on audio book, there is a teaser below along with the link. In the Walking Dead universe, there is no greater villain than The Governor. The despot who runs the walled-off town of Woodbury, he has his own sick sense of justice: whether it’s forcing prisoners to battle zombies in an arena for the townspeople’s amusement, or chopping off the appendages of those who cross him. The Governor was voted “Villain of the Year” by Wizard magazine the year he debuted, and his story arc was the most controversial in the history of the Walking Dead comic book series. Now, for the first time, fans of The Walking Dead will discover how The Governor became the man he is, and what drove him to such extremes. Are you missing The Walking Dead? You will have to wait another 50 days before the next episode airs so I thought I would post these two YouTube movies to keep you going a little while longer. As the title suggests it's every zombie death in season one cute into a 1 minute video, and every zombie death (so far) in season two cut into a 4 1/5 minute video. Zombiesdrule has been infected by George R. Zombieman, he has been emailing us and posting on our facebook page. So we thought we should give him a shout out before he starts banging on our door and trying to bite us... George R. Zombieman is a very lonely zombie puppet. But thanks to his ever-growing Facebook family, he has been able to develop friendships that don't end in an ungodly bloodbath. Only puppets can become zombie puppets. But still, they need our support. After all, zombie puppets are people too. Well... sorta. I'm helping George get things in order for his support group and we should have it up and running shortly. There's no financial obligation whatsoever, and it's a very good cause. Stay tuned. And remember the Zombie Puppets Anonymous mantra: Helping You Learn How to Meet People, Not Eat People. It's a bit ironic that it's taken me over a month to write this review. I feel like I'm channeling Anton's, the hero and villian of the the film, lazy procrastinating attitude towards everything. That's right... I was just exploring the character. Idle Hands is a horror comedy about Anton Tobias and his unusual problem. After a seventeen year life of sloth Anton is the ultimate slacker. Spending every free moment lounging on the couch watching TV or playing video games he lives a life of "idle hands". Heeey... that's the name of the movie. Hey wakes up one morning to find that his parents have been brutally murdered. After going to his best friends for help he comes to the horrifying realization that his hand has become possessed and is responsible for his parent's death and now his friend's as well. Now Anton's hand is after his life long crush and it's up to Anton to save her by any means necessary. But hey wouldn't you cut off your hand for Jessica Alba? I had forgotten how entertaining this film is. It's been about 10 years since I first saw it. It was a great mix of humor and horror, and the addition of Jessica Alba doesn't hurt at all. The zombie element in this movie is not a featured one. After killing his two best friends they return as zombies because walking to the white light was too much effort for them. Lazy to the end and beyond. They provide a lot of the comedy in this film, one of them being the hilarious Seth Green so you can kind of expect that. But outside of the scenes those two are in there are no zombies or zombie themes. The rest of the film is more devil possession related. So if you're ok with watching a zombie film that is really only a sub-plot zombie film then definitely give Idle Hands a viewing. You won't be disappointed. But don't expect lots of brain eating zombies and scenes of extreme zombie genocide. It's just not going to happen here. ParaNorman is the new upcoming stop-motion animation from Laika the maker of Coraline. As you can see from the trailer it looks amazing, and it also has a pretty sweet voice cast. In this comedy thriller, a small town comes under siege by the undead. Only a misunderstood local boy Norman, who has the ability to speak with the dead, is able to prevent the destruction of his town from a centuries-old curse. He'll also have to take on ghosts, witches, zombies and worst of all, the moronic grown-ups. But this young ghoul whisperer may find his paranormal activities pushed to their otherworldly limits. ParaNorman is being directed by Sam Fell (The Tales of Despereaux and Flushed Away) and set for international release on August 17, 2012. The voice cast includes Casey Affleck, Tempestt Bledsoe, Jeff Garlin, John Goodman, Bernard Hill, Anna Kendrick, Leslie Mann, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Elaine Stritch and Tucker Albrizzi. |
