Deadgirl (2008)
ZombieDrule thinks..Sometimes you sit down to watch a movie and you have no real idea what it's going to be about. For me this was one of those times and boy what a film.
Deadgirl has so many wrong things going on in it, it's unreal. Yet it's the kind of film you can't stop watching. The wrong things I'm talking about aren't the usual bad directing, bad acting, bad story and bad effects, it's the content. I'll try not to give too much away in my reviews but for this film I'm going to have to, so if you don't want it spoiled here is the short version. 4 1/2 out of 5, this film is sick, clever and all kinds of wrong. Watch only with people you know very well and turn the lights of so you don't have to make eye contact. Now the long version... Rickie (Shiloh Fernandez) and JT (Noah Segan) are life long high school friends, the inbetweeners, not jocks, not nerds. One day while bunking off school they decided to hang out at the old abandoned mental hospital. While in there they get cornered buy a mean stray dog and find a hidden room. In this room they find a beautiful naked women wrapped up in plastic, some how she seems to be alive, but how did she get into this sealed room. They are split on what to do Rickie wants to call the cops, JT wants to keep her, after fighting they decided to sleep on it. The next day Rickie finds JT in the room with the girl, he is freaking out because he beat her face in, broke her neck and killed her. Yet she is still alive, but not looking quite so beautiful. Despite being dead but alive and smashed up JP decides to use her as his sex toy. At this point their other friend Wheeler gets brought into the story and also starts violating the dead girl, which is not shown to us in a subtle way. Rickie who is struggling with the whole situation tries to tell his secret to the girl of his dreams, Joann, but of course doesn't. Rickie and Wheeler get beaten to a bloody mess by Joann's jock boyfriend. Wheeler starts screaming about the sex slave they have locked up. The jocks kidnaps them and takes them to the mental hospital and demands to see the girl...... This is where things get even more weird and strange, the two jocks end up having group sex with her and ones of them gets bitten. This is where we start to see the zombie in her, from this point on in the film people turn into zombies, people get killed and zombies get made. I'm keeping it vague so I don't spoil it too much. This film is disturbing but the story is solid, the acting is great and unnervingly believable. In fact everything about this film is good if you can get past the content. For a film where no one uses the z-word this is definitely moving up into my top 10 zombie movie list.
