ZomBcon is coming to Seattle and it's only 5 days away, we are looking forward to meeting all the  crazy zombie and horror fans that are going to be there.

On Friday August 19th the Rio Theatre in Vancouver brings us the second annual Dead on Film Festival. This year there have been so many great submissions they have decided to hold a second event "Rest of the Fest" screen August 24th.

• So the "Dead on Film Festival" is on Friday August 19th, the winner will be decided by audience vote & will receive the coveted ZOSCAR Trophy, a CASH PRIZE of $1,000 and more.
• and "Rest of the Fest" will screen August 24th, at 9:30pm. This is a just for fun event, there are no prizes but it is a chance to see these zombie shorts on the BIG screen.

Last years winners and prizes were-

• 1st prize of $300 Cash, a Production Workshop courtesy VIVO Media Arts, a keg of beer from Storm Brewery, a Dead on Film Prize Pack, and the "zoscar" trophy went to "KIDZ". 
• 2nd prize, also a Dead on Film Prize Pack, went to "Night of the Unwed". 
• 3rd prize of a Dead on Film Prize Pack went to "Nibblers"

The Rio Theatre in Vancouver is calling out for submissions for it's 2nd annual DEAD ON FILM Zombie Short Film & Video Competition. Last year was a huge success, the 10 finalists had their film screened in front of a sold out audience of 450. Each one was voted on by the crowd and the top three won prizes.

This year the top 10 shorts will be screened on Friday Aug 19th - the winner will be decided by audience vote & will receive the coveted ZOSCAR Trophy, a CASH PRIZE of $1,000 and more.

If you have  a Zombie Short Film that's under 5 minutes in length, or you are planning on making one you have until Sunday July 31st at MIDNIGHT. Submission fee is $25 and can be delivered in person or by mail to the RIO Theatre, 1660 East Broadway, Vancouver BC V5N 1W1.
Submissions may be brought in person to the RIO Monday - Thursday 6pm-10pm, Friday (6pm-Midnight) and Saturdays & Sundays (5-10pm).

Kick off your summer with thousands of Zombies this Fourth of July weekend at the 3rd annual Red, White and Dead Zombie Block Party! The fun returns to the heart of Fremont with Seattle's newest outdoor music concert, “Rock the Block” featuring live performances by KULTUR SHOCK and THE STAXX BROTHERS and many others.

This year's activities include the popular Guinness World Record attempt Zombie walk, Thriller dance and Fashionably Undead costume contest. 2011 also welcomes new features with two massive beer gardens and Seattle popular, mobile food carts to enjoy all day day long and into the evening! 

Special Guests Include RAT CITY ROLLER GIRLS Team as guest judges this year, plus some of your favorite mobile food carts around Seattle.

This all-ages experience offers attendees a 360-degree pop culture explosion with a one of the biggest display of costumes and make-up celebrating the every popular, Zombie. 

Over 7,000 people attended last year and has garnered two Guinness World Records for the “Largest Zombie Walk on the Planet; making Fremont as the "Dead Center of the Universe” every 4th of July.
