ZombieDrule thinks..The classic story of a boy and his zombie. "Fido" delivers a lot of fun as it successfully satires zombie films, and the 1950's all in one. Set in the vintage '50s "Fido" takes place in a society that has learned how to deal with zombies and has found that they make the perfect pet. By designing a special collar that keeps their thirst for brains at bay they find they have no trouble taking orders and performing meaningless chores. Things get a bit messy when Fido happens to eat one of the neighbours and his best friend/owner Timmy has to pull out all the stops to keep Fido a part of the family. Packed with a stellar cast, Billy Connolly, Carrie-Anne Moss, Dylan Baker to name a few, "Fido" is filled with a lot of very funny scenes that will definitely be tickling your funny bone. A particular favourite of mine is when Timmy first falls for Cindy as she's firing round after round of her semi-automatic rifle during target practice at their elementary school. All done in slow motion of course. So when you add up all these comical scenes you get a film that although funny feels a little disjointed. It never really felt like the movie got into a good rhythm. And for me a film like that must have a good ending to make it worth while. And really good endings are few and far between. Not that "Fido" had a bad ending. Just an ending pure and simple. I'd recommend "Fido" to a friend but I can't see myself watching it more than twice.

Laura Stevens says..
I LOVED this movie! Never has there been a zombie film with this level of cinematography and attention to detail. While it's not my favorite or even my favorite type of zombie film it needs to be said that this movie stands out of the crowd. Plus, it's Canadian! Like me!
