ZombieDrule thinks..When I went to Bruce Campbell's book signing I arrived an hour after it had started. It took place in a massive theatre that was full with avid fans. The event itself went 2 hours over schedule and had to be relocated to the hall of the theatre because a show was starting. So after waiting for 5 hours I was the last person to get Bruce's signature and a handshake. I was exhilarated, thrilled, speechless and I never had to pee so bad in my life. I quickly made my way to the washroom and saddled up to the nearest urinal, and just as I was ready to put out the fire who should walk in and saddle up next to me? "Whooo. That's better. Hey there. Thanks for coming out." Bruce says to me. "Oh ya... Thanks for... being awesome." I said, burrowing a hole in the wall with my eyes so Bruce didn't think I was trying to sneak a peak. At this point I realized I had gotten stage fright and had zero chance of going on with the show, which I can tell you made the hour drive home a lot less comfortable. So what does this have to do with the book? Nothing, but this is the kind of person who's going to love this book... plus I like the story.
"If Chins Could Kill" is an autobiographical book that takes us from Bruce Campbell's childhood in Michigan all the way to his Hollywood "B" list career and every twist and turn it took to get there. There's a lot about the process him and his high school friend, Sam Raimi, went through to make "Evil Dead". Something anyone with an interest in film making, or the film itself, would enjoy reading. Campbell's career has had a lot of ups and downs which has resulted in a lot of stories to tell, and he does so in a very entertaining comedic way. Not surprisingly. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in one of the following: Bruce Campbell, the Evil Dead series, or the film making process. And if you hit all three of those then why are you bothering reading this review? Go. Go buy it now. Rate: If Chins Could Kill
