ZombieDrule thinks..Married with Zombies is one of 3 books written by Jesse Petersen in a series that was published in September 2010. The "About the Author" section of her site reads as follows:
Jesse Petersen was born in Pennsylvania, grew up in Idaho and got married in Washington. She has a degree in Psychology from the University of Washington and has been writing for twelve years. Currently, she lives in the Midwest with her husband and two cats. When not writing, she enjoys reading, bike riding and volunteering at her local zoo. Doesn't sounds like a candidate for real zombie action does it? Well, if you thought that you'd be wrong. Married with Zombies is a romantic-comedy with a delicious twist of zombie drool sure to wet your palette. It reads a bit like a couples-self-help book on marriage with chapter titles like: - Balance the workload in your relationship. No one person should be responsible for killing all the zombies. - Talk out your big decisions. Hear both opinions before you decide if you’re going to flee the city or hole up with Campbell’s Soup and CNN. - Plan romantic getaways. Or just getaways. The story begins with two unlikely zombie fighters, Sarah and David, a struggling couple on the verge of divorce. While driving to marriage counseling, they start to notice oddities in their normal routine: a missing guard in the parking lot, a lack of cars on the freeway, and their counselor feasting on the bloody remains of her previous clients. Over the course of the next day they realize that whatever is going on it's not just local, it's everywhere. Despite it being a serious, life-threatening event Sarah and David still have their marital problems. An argument doesn't end just because zombies are chasing you! So it's up to Sarah and David to find a way to work together and fix their problems if they are going to have even a slim chance of surviving. Like the novel says, the couple that slays together stays together! Married with Zombies is an easy read and full of brain-smashing fun. While I was reading it I kept picturing it up on the big screen. I can see Katherine Heigl and Gerard Butler quipping back and forth about how she's uptight and not fun anymore and how he's turned into a lazy jerk, all while smashing in zombie skulls. If you ever thought that a typical romantic-comedy could never blend with zombie horror, think again and give this book a read! Rate Married with Zombies
