ZombiesDrule thinks..Third time is a charm right? Well not for Resident Evil: Extinction directed by Russell Mulcahy and once again written by Paul W.S. Anderson. The film takes place years after the Raccoon City disaster in a post-apocalyptic world, a group of survivors are headed to Alaska which is thought to be free of the infected the survivors meet with Alice (Milla Jovovich) who is on a mission to bring down the Umbrella Corporation. Finally more gore & real zombies this movie was better than first two films but not by much. Some how zombies can be domesticated this is a first in any zombie film by my watch. Cloning is possible but only for one person Alice. Super powers are also possible but only for one person, once again Alice. Bringing people back to life not as zombies though is possible but only for one person Alice. The story has so many plot holes which they never explained. Acting was decent but the characters were lame. At least there was action, this was the only thing that kept me going through the movie, but lost me when Alice gained Jedi like powers, think I’m joking? I wish I was Alice, being able to move rocks, motorcycles, with my mind & oh she can also generate force fields to protect her self. I couldn’t believe it I think the writer was watching Star Wars: The Clone Wars while writing the screenplay for Resident Evil: Extinction. I wanted to give this movie series a chance, they had everything essential to make a good video game movie. They had a great game series to base the movie on, a great lead actor, a great sound track. It could’ve been a fantastic movie franchise yet they managed to ruin it. Judging by this movie I wouldn’t get my hopes up for the fourth instalment of the series.
