ZombiesDrule thinks...After twelve years someone decided to jump start the "Return of the Living Dead" series with the fourth and fifth installments. Since these are two separate films I'll review them as such, but know that they do loosely tie into each other and have some of the same characters. Up first "Return of the Living Dead 4: Necropolis". The film takes place years after the last trioxin incident when the government disposed of the rest of the dangerous chemical by shipping it to Chernobyl for containment. However the powerful and evil Hybra-Tech Corporation retrieves the drums of trioxin and begin radical experiments. Sounds familiar. Julian Garrison's parents worked for Hybra-Tech before they were killed in a mysterious car accident while testing a Hybra-Tech vehicle. After his friend has a accident on his dirt bike and is pronounced dead at the hospital even though he was fine when he got into the ambulance Julian and his friends decide to infiltrate Hybra-Tech to find the truth about what's really going on. I have to say this film is a major disappointment to the series. The acting was awful with only a few exceptions. The story was all over the map. The dialogue was beyond believable. No boobies. The only positives were the rare funny line, and the zombie bites were alright. That's really about it. It wasn't the worst film we've watched but it was a struggle to finish. And then once we did finished, "Oh great, now we have to sit through the sequel!" Cue "Return of the Living Dead 5: Rave to the Grave"
Best Line: Julian Garrison: I'm gonna kill you, Zeke. Zeke Bordon: In case you haven't noticed, I'm already dead, f*ckhead! Best Weapon: Flame thrower. |
