Watch Zombie Honeymoon on NETFLIX in US and Canada

Boy meets girl. Boy kills girl. Boy brings girl back  to life and tries to stop her from eating everyone. That pretty much sums up this film.

Curt Reynolds is a rebellious kid who steals his father's security pass to a military bunker in order to impress his girlfriend, Julie. There they discover a top secret experiment involving the dangerous trioxin chemical that brings the dead back to life. The experiments are an effort to contain the trioxin by freezing the brain of the recently brought back dead. The drug they us to freeze the brain wears off too soon and an incident incurs as a result with two soldiers ending up infected before they're able to contain them. After that Curt's father (who is head of the trioxin operation) is forced to reassignment and relocation. When he tells Curt that they're moving, Curt refuses and insists he's staying with Julie. After a short argument Curt and Julie leave together but end up in an accident while riding Curt's motorcycle. Julie dies in the accident and Curt is so broken up about it he decides to use the trioxin to bring his girlfriend back to life. Probably not the best idea he's had.

This story was kind of like Romeo and Juliet, except Juliet was sticking nails through her hands and munching down on people's brains. Man was Curt whipped. I mean how many times does Julie have to eat someone's face off before Curt starts considering dumping her. And it was kind of weird that when Julie turned she was totally normal and completely coherent. I think the movie tried to explain this but the message didn't get through. This film could only be described as a zombie love story. Perhaps the first of it's kind. And it wasn't the usual comical way when you think of zombies and love in the same sentence. If you think that' something that would interest you then this film might be that something. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. It was different and was nothing like the first to Returns of the Living Dead. Just be prepared to yell at Curt "Grow a pair!".
