Zombiesdrule Thinks...
The cover looks like a zombie coming out of the ground, the back of the box says "A terrifying zombie thriller!" So why then when Zombie David and I watched Rise of the Dead did we not see a single zombie. Sure we see people stumbling around, limbs twisted, groaning and drooling. But they have knives, or scissors, and are stabbing people not eating them. Not once did we even see a little nibble. Rise of the Dead is NOT a zombie movie, the dead are NOT rising! The story is very strange and I will tell you it, so awhoooga, awhoooga, spoiler alert... The angry spirit of a dead pissed off baby is possessing as many people as he can around his mother to seek revenge after being put up for adoption. That may seem like areasonable thing for a mother to do, but the poor kid had a couple of bad runs when it came to his adoptive parents, the last one leaving a gun on the coffee table. You guessed it, guns are not toys little fella. So the baby possesses lots of people making them look like "zombies", and kills lots of other people. At the end of the movie he ends up in the body of his mothers boy friend. Awhoooga, Awhoooga, sick part of the movie alert.... She then comforts her baby (who is inside her boyfriend) and then has sex with her boyfriend (who has her baby inside her). If that's not strange enough he is making "sex" noisesthat sound like he is a little boy, which then turn into man noises... the baby is now back inside his mother..! At this point my mind boggled..what the...this seems like all kinds of wrong. The film then cuts to a scene where she is very pregnant with her evil messed up kid and the boyfriend looks like he is thinking, "What the...this seems like all kinds of wrong". The acting is just ok, there are no zombies and the film is just weird, and not in a good way like Deadgirl. The voice in my head is saying always finish on a positive note....ermRise of the Dead is a only 72-minutes long. |
