ZombieDrule thinks..I'm really not sure what to say about this film. But I will try. Its not as good as the original Dawn of the Dead or the remake, but better then Diary of the Dead. The acting is ok at best, the story is alright, the make up is pretty much the same as always. One plus is the FX are good, its always nice to see the new and interesting ways in which a zombie can die. The story takes place shortly after Diary of the Dead and is set mainly on the island of Plum, off the coast of Delaware. We have two Irish families which are feuding, they have always been feuding. My thinking is a world wide zombie outbreak would be the kind of thing to bring people together, but not these Irish, folk. Just one more thing to feud over I guess. We also have some soldiers, with Guns. They get involved. Theres too much talking, too much killing with guns and not enough, "Oh My God the zombies are coming, lets kill them with interesting objects" Heres the breakdown.... Two Big Family's, one small island. One family kills Zombies, the other wants integrate them. The one family with more guns sends the other families father away. He meets some army types which include a 'girl' soldier, who some reason the first time we meet her is masturbating, and a young man who is not a soldier. They go back to the island, lots of people die, more by each other than by zombies. Three people survive and leave again and theres a small twist at the end of the film. All that said, I did enjoy this film, and I would watch it again. You should see it too.
Best Line - All the lines seem to be one liners, so much so I forgot to try and pick one. Best Weapon - Flare Gun shot into the stomach,which then sets fire to the head. |
