So after many months of anticipation the moment was finally here. With a bowl of Halloween candy in hand I sat down with my fiance to watch episode one of AMC's "The Walking Dead".

Having read the comics the first thing that I notice is the differences between the show and the comic. I react to these changes with displeasure at first and I wonder why they would change things. I quickly change from that thought process and accept them as part of the adaptation. Plus they are making this show more for the people who aren't familiar with the comic. The more the show goes on the happier I was. Quickly getting sucked in to the emotional drama that made the comic so great. At the end of the episode my fiance turns to me and asks when the next episode airs. This was somewhat surprising and a big win since she had pretty much just watched it for the sake of doing something with me. I've been working 7 days a week lately. She is not a zombie fan, but really enjoyed the show. So I'd say that speaks louder than anything for the job well done by AMC and Frank Durabont.
